The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a notorious cult group during a tactical operation in the Owode-Ikorodu area of the state. The operation, which was carried out based on credible intelligence, led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of illegal firearms.
According to the Lagos Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrested individuals have been identified as Adenuga Tosin, Jesutofunmi Ezekiel, and Adeniji Juwon. The suspects were apprehended during a well-coordinated, intelligence-led raid by one of the command’s tactical teams along the Owode-Ikorodu axis.
The suspects were found in possession of a locally made pistol and six live cartridges. Preliminary investigations revealed that the trio are active members of a cult group that has been linked to a series of violent crimes across Lagos State.

Further inquiries established that the suspects played key roles in the movement and distribution of illegal firearms in different parts of Lagos, posing a significant threat to public safety and security.
CSP Hundeyin confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track and arrest other members of the group. The suspects currently in custody will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations in accordance with legal procedures.
This latest arrest comes amid growing concerns over cult-related violence in Lagos. In May, a suspected cult-related killing was reported in the Ikorodu area, where a popular shawarma vendor named Benjamin was shot multiple times in front of his customers by two assailants, allegedly as part of a gang rivalry.
The Lagos State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to rooting out cultism and restoring peace and safety across the state.
