Prophet, six others arrested for ritual killing in Ogun
The Ogun Police Command has apprehended a seven-man gang suspected of engaging in the illicit trade of human parts for money rituals.
Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu revealed that among the exhibits recovered from the suspects were a human heart and two kegs filled with human body parts.
The individuals arrested on Thursday have been identified as Moses Abidemi, Oluwo Monday, Prophet Peter Akiwunmi Ifatosin, Jamiu Yusuf, Sheriff Agbai, and Osojieahen Alioneitoura.
Alamutu explained that the Divisional Police Office in Onipanu received a report of a missing lady, Ms. Sulaiimon Adijat, on January 9th. She had been invited on a date by one Adebayo Azeez. Despite extensive efforts to locate her, her phone remained switched off since her disappearance. Consequently, the anti-kidnapping unit of the command initiated a technical-based investigation.
The investigation uncovered that the suspects were allegedly involved in a money ritual referred to as ‘Oshole’ to produce N200 million within seven days. Oluwo Monday purportedly charged Agbai and Alioneitoura N800,000 to prepare the materials for the ritual. Subsequently, Oluwo Monday enlisted the help of Peter, who had prior experience in the trade of human parts, to procure a lady between 18 and 20 years old.
Peter was tasked with delivering the mutilated body parts of the lady, specifically her head, two breasts, vagina, and two wrists, for the alleged ritual.
However, on January 10th, Sheriff and Osojieahen collected the ritual money from Oluwo and returned to their location in Edo State. Problems arose when Osojieahen reported that the ritual elements, as directed by Oluwo, failed to yield the expected N200 million within seven days.
A search conducted in Moses's shrine on February 3rd and 10th yielded female handbags and two cement sacks containing human bones, Alamutu added.
The CP mentioned that all the suspects confessed to their alleged roles in the crime, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
