A married elementary school teacher in Russia’s Leningrad region has been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing an 11-year-old student. Anna Plaksyuk, 27, committed "violent acts of a sexual nature" against the boy, including forcing him to touch her breasts, kissing him on the lips, and groping him through his clothing, according to court testimony.
The abuse occurred when Plaksyuk, then 25, kept the child behind after class and locked the door. She also sent the boy nude photos and demanded explicit images in return. The crimes took place over four months before the victim’s mother discovered inappropriate WhatsApp messages and photos between her son and the teacher.

The mother reported Plaksyuk to the school principal in Toksovo, a town near St. Petersburg, accusing her of "systematic flirting, stroking, and kissing." Despite initially blaming the boy, claiming he had "shown signs of attention" and "made compliments," Plaksyuk was arrested in February 2023 and held in pre-trial detention until her conviction.
Parents and colleagues expressed shock, with some describing Plaksyuk as a "dream teacher" and saying there were no prior signs of her "dark side." The victim reportedly avoided school for some time after the arrest.

Plaksyuk’s husband has not publicly commented on the case, and it remains unclear if they are still together. Her social media accounts were set to private, though one cryptic post remains visible: "You can’t hold a man back with anything—not with children, not with youth, not with your stomach, not with blackmail, not with hysterics."
In addition to her prison sentence, Plaksyuk is barred from teaching for an extra year after her release.
