The "Sherri" show is grieving the loss of one of its top executives amidst a financial investigation.

Matt Uzzle, the executive overseeing Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, was discovered deceased in his Piermont, N.Y., home on Feb. 13, as confirmed by a police source. While police have not elaborated further due to an ongoing investigation, sources suggest Uzzle's death was by apparent suicide.

Uzzle, responsible for managing production and budget oversight at "Sherri," was reportedly under scrutiny within the show at the time of his tragic death. Concerns had been raised about financial matters, including issues with petty cash and unpaid rent for the show’s studio in Chelsea, NYC.

Despite staff concerns about potential repercussions, the show's production has continued under Debmar-Mercury's oversight.

Uzzle, who had transitioned from "The Wendy Williams Show," had expressed the need for time to organize paperwork when confronted about the financial status of the show.

After a welfare check was initiated due to concerns over his whereabouts, Uzzle was found deceased.

Debmar-Mercury has engaged legal assistance from Morgan Lewis to conduct an investigation into the matter, refraining from further comment until its conclusion.

News of Uzzle's passing has been limited, with only smaller news outlets mentioning it. The show paid tribute to Uzzle on its Feb. 15 episode and has provided grief counseling to its staff.
