A shooting during Sunday morning services at Crosspointe Community Church in Wayne, Michigan, left one person injured and the suspected gunman dead after a confrontation with the church’s security team, authorities said.
The incident unfolded shortly after 11 a.m., roughly 30 minutes into the service. The armed suspect reportedly approached the church and opened fire when a person in a truck attempted to block his path. A church security guard immediately responded, fatally shooting the suspect. One individual was struck in the leg during the incident.

Panic erupted inside the church as terrified worshippers fled to safety. Video footage captured the chaos, with parishioners urged to move to the back of the church while gunshots rang out.
Wayne police confirmed that the shooting remains under active investigation and praised the quick action of the security guard in preventing further casualties.
