Stars Roast Lenny Kravitz As He’s Honored With A Star On The Walk Of Fame
Lenny Kravitz was celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, accompanied by humorous and heartfelt tributes from his closest friends and family.
As a four-time Grammy award-winner, Kravitz is renowned for hits like “American Woman” and “Fly Away,” marking his illustrious musical career. His daughter, Zoe Kravitz, took the stage to honor her father with a speech that was both endearing and entertaining.
“Being your daughter has been one of the great adventures of my life,” she began. “I’ve witnessed your unwavering care for your loved ones, your remarkable dedication to your craft, and of course, your unique fashion choices,” she teased. “According to my dad, if a shirt doesn’t show your nipples, it’s not a shirt.”
Zoe's speech was a blend of affection and humor, reflecting on their shared experiences and her admiration for her father’s enduring qualities.
“We’ve shared countless moments, both profound and hilarious. I’ve witnessed your growth and your consistency,” she continued before lightening the mood. Zoe humorously reflected on having a “cool” dad and praised Kravitz for his zest for life.
“Your music, your lyrics, your live performances, your homes, your love of food, family, deep conversations, silly jokes, dance parties, late-night kitchen chats – you embrace life fully,” Zoe remarked.
“What makes you truly cool isn’t your shades, leather pants, or knitted shirts. It’s your genuine love for life.”
Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington also paid tribute to Kravitz, describing their decades-long bond as more than friendship.
“We’re like twins, just without the resemblance. We’ve shared a deep bond for 30 years,” Washington shared, adding a lighthearted touch as he defined “friendship” from the dictionary, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Kravitz's Walk of Fame ceremony was a fitting celebration of his multifaceted talent and the enduring connections he shares with those closest to him.
