The dismembered body of a 19-year-old Venezuelan teenager, Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Piña, was discovered in multiple bags at a water treatment plant in the El Agustino district of Lima, Peru. Authorities confirmed her identity using her distinctive tattoos, including the English phrase “Love me for who I am” inked on her arm.
Fabiola, known on TikTok as “China Baby,” had nearly 5,000 followers and regularly posted dance and lifestyle videos. Her final upload to the platform was on June 5. She was reported missing by her cousin two days later, on June 7. Her remains were located on June 9, prompting an investigation into a potentially brutal and premeditated killing.

Police suspect Fabiola may have been strangled before her body was dismembered. Preliminary forensic analysis revealed possible signs of torture, including cigarette burns on her legs and feet. Her remains are believed to have been dumped into the Rímac River before ending up at the treatment facility.
Originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Fabiola fled her home country in 2022 at age 16 with her then-boyfriend, Mayner Yoffrey Giménez Castrillo, who was 21 years her senior. The couple entered Peru illegally and settled in the Huaycán district of Lima. Months later, Mayner was found dead in what was officially ruled a suicide. However, his family disputed that conclusion and reportedly blamed Fabiola and another Venezuelan man for his death. She was never formally investigated.

After Mayner’s death, Fabiola continued living in Lima and worked in nightclubs and bars in areas allegedly influenced by Venezuelan criminal organizations. Police sources say she may have been linked to a gang faction known as Antitren, which reportedly provided her protection after she received threats demanding she “pay” for Mayner’s death.
Investigators believe she was lured from a party on the night before her death under false pretenses, and then possibly tortured and killed. Authorities are currently analyzing CCTV footage and interviewing individuals familiar with her social and work circles. No arrests have been made, but police expect significant developments in the coming days.
