A 16-year-old girl in Texas called police to her home on Sunday night after an argument between her parents ended in tragedy, with deputies later discovering both parents dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the teenager waited outside the family’s home near Katy after witnessing her parents arguing. When deputies arrived around 10:00 p.m., they found the couple deceased inside the house.
Investigators said early reports indicate that the 48-year-old woman was fatally shot by her 47-year-old husband before he turned the gun on himself. Authorities have not yet released the victims’ names pending autopsy results.

Family members told investigators that the couple had been experiencing ongoing marital issues and may have been considering divorce. Detectives confirmed that no previous reports of domestic violence had been filed at the residence.
The home, now a crime scene, is located in an upper-middle-class neighborhood with brick houses and tree-lined streets. Police said the teenage daughter was unharmed during the incident and it remains unclear if she directly witnessed the shooting. No other family members were inside at the time.
The sheriff’s office stated that relatives are expected to be interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
