A police aircraft crashed into the sea near the beach resort town of Hua Hin in Thailand, resulting in the deaths of all six individuals on board. The fatal crash occurred around 8 a.m. local time as the aircraft was on a test flight ahead of scheduled parachute training operations in Hua Hin district.

According to Royal Thai Police officials, the plane involved was a small propeller aircraft, believed to be a Viking DHC-6 Twin Otter, based on images captured at the crash site. The aircraft went down near Hua Hin Airport in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, approximately 100 meters (330 feet) offshore. Photos from the scene showed the wreckage submerged in shallow waters, with the fuselage visibly torn in two.
All passengers aboard were police officers. Five were confirmed dead at the scene, while the sixth, identified as the pilot, succumbed to injuries later at the hospital. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the victims pending official procedures and family notifications.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. Officials have begun collecting evidence, including data from the aircraft’s black box, to determine the sequence of events that led to the fatal accident.
