Two Men Arrested for Masquerading as Female Masseurs to Lure and Rob Victims in Kenya

Detectives have arrested two men in Nairobi’s Roysambu area for allegedly posing as female masseurs to lure and rob unsuspecting victims. The suspects, identified as Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, are accused of orchestrating an elaborate online scheme where they advertised “professional massage services” while disguising themselves as women.
The arrest followed a report filed by a recent victim, who said he was lured to an apartment along Lumumba Drive under the pretense of receiving massage services. Upon arrival, the two suspects allegedly brandished knives, forcing the victim to transfer KSh 280,000 from his bank account. In addition to the forced transaction, the suspects reportedly stole other valuables from the victim before throwing him out of the apartment.
Investigations were launched by officers at Kasarani Police Station, and forensic leads helped track the suspects to a popular chilling spot in the Kamiti prison area, where they were arrested. Authorities believe the suspects may have been spending some of the stolen funds at the time of their arrest.
The duo, both of Kikuyu descent, are known to frequent upscale clubs where they allegedly target unsuspecting male patrons while dressed as women. Police say the suspects maintain active social media accounts, particularly on TikTok, where they often post videos of themselves cross-dressed.
The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing processing, pending arraignment in court.
