A 23-year-old female prison officer in the United Kingdom, Isabelle Dale, has been charged with engaging in sexual relationships with two inmates simultaneously and conspiring to smuggle drugs into a high-security facility. Dale was employed at HMP Swaleside, a Category B men’s prison located on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.
The alleged misconduct took place between September 2021 and December 2022. During her tenure at the prison, Dale reportedly began a sexual relationship with inmate Connor Money, 28, before also entering a similar relationship with another prisoner, Shahid Sharif, 33. Authorities have not publicly disclosed Sharif’s criminal background, but Money is serving a nine-year sentence for causing the death of his best friend in a fatal car crash while attempting to evade police.

The crash occurred after officers instructed Money to pull over in his BMW 5 Series. Instead, he fled and crashed into the rear of a truck. His passenger, Jordan Amos, 23, died in the incident. Money escaped into nearby woods before being apprehended. The lead investigating officer at the time described Money’s actions as the “worst driving” witnessed in 25 years of policing.
Isabelle Dale appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court and faces two counts of misconduct in public office. In addition, she is charged with conspiring to smuggle drugs into the prison alongside inmate Sharif and 27-year-old Lilea Sallis, who also appeared in court on the same conspiracy charges. Sharif faces an additional charge of possessing a mobile phone while incarcerated.

Connor Money has not been charged in connection with his alleged affair with Dale.
Dale was released on bail with strict conditions, including a prohibition on contacting any of the co-accused. The case is scheduled to proceed at Inner London Crown Court on May 23. No pleas have been entered by any of the defendants, and District Judge Adrian Turner emphasized that, should the case proceed to trial, all accused individuals are required to attend.
