The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) caught an 85-year-old man, Ibrahim Usman, for supposedly kidnapping a 3-year-old child from his neighborhood in Kano State.

On Thursday, NSCDC’s Spokesperson in the state, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, said this.

Abdullahi said they nabbed the suspect at Yar’Adua Quarters, Rimin Kebe in Ungoggo Local Government Area of the state. They caught him with the help of operatives from Ungoggo Division.

He said, “The 85-year-old suspect, Ibrahim Usman, kidnapped the victim, a 3-year-old boy who lives in the neighborhood. He tried to hide the boy in his friend’s house at Hotoro Bypass in Kano State.”

“Suspecting something wrong, his friend refused to keep the boy and told people in Rimin Kebe, where the suspect lives, about the missing boy. This made the suspect run away. Later, personnel from the Ungoggo division caught him,” the NSCDC spokesman said.

He emphasized that the old man took the victim’s father’s phone number two months ago but never called him.

“Important to mention is that the suspect took the victim’s father’s phone number two months ago but never called him,” Abdullahi added.

Abdullahi also said that the NSCDC is investigating the case. Once they finish, they will take the suspect to court.
