A woman in Shenzhen, China, was arrested after obstructing a high-speed train’s departure by physically blocking its doors, refusing to board until her late-arriving friends could catch up. The incident, which unfolded at a bullet train station, was captured on video showing the 45-year-old calmly using her phone while resisting efforts by railway staff to move her inside the train.
Railway employees were seen pushing and urging her to enter the train as she stood at the doorway, preventing the automatic doors from closing. She gestured repeatedly to her friends on the platform while ignoring the pleas of staff. Despite the disruption, the train eventually departed and arrived at its destination on time.

Authorities later tracked the woman to the city of Xiamen and detained her the next day. She was charged with “interrupting train operations,” a serious offense in China, where the high-speed rail network is renowned for its punctuality and efficiency.
The incident sparked widespread public criticism. Many condemned her actions as selfish and dangerous, citing the potential ripple effect of delays on the tightly scheduled railway system. Critics warned that leniency in such cases could encourage copycat behavior, leading to further disruptions.

In a separate train-related incident, a Chinese tourist in Sri Lanka narrowly escaped serious injury after falling from a moving train while attempting to take a photo. The woman had been leaning out of the carriage when tree branches struck her, causing her to fall. She was later found in nearby bushes with only minor injuries. Local authorities emphasized the importance of observing safety guidelines when aboard trains.
Another recent controversy involved a tourist in Dalian, China, who was filmed forcefully grabbing a bird for selfies on a beach. The man was seen holding the bird by its wings while his partner took pictures, before throwing the bird into the air as bystanders expressed outrage.
These incidents have raised growing concerns about irresponsible behavior in public spaces, particularly involving tourists and transportation systems. Authorities continue to urge citizens and visitors to respect public safety protocols and wildlife laws.
