A 59-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly opening fire into a man’s bedroom following a heated argument at a home in the Brownsville neighborhood of Miami. Cassandra Stuckey faces charges of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Miami Police Department responded to the scene around 6:43 p.m. on Sunday near the 1800 block of Northwest 44th Street after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers detained Stuckey and began an investigation.

According to the arrest report, the male victim had just returned home when he overheard Stuckey outside claiming she “runs this house.” The man replied, “You don’t run this house,” and proceeded to his bedroom. Moments later, Stuckey allegedly entered the home, spit in his face, and after being pushed away, retrieved a silver revolver with a black handle from her room.

Investigators said Stuckey then approached the victim’s glass-paneled bedroom door, tapped on it, and called him a derogatory name before firing a shot into the room. The victim told police he dove to the floor and heard four additional gunshots as he called 911.

A witness confirmed the sequence of events, telling detectives that he observed Stuckey retrieve the firearm and fire three to four rounds toward the victim’s bedroom.

Stuckey denied discharging the weapon and pointed out that the door had recently been replaced, allegedly leaving no bullet holes. However, police later executed a search warrant and recovered a firearm matching the description provided by both the victim and the witness.

A background check revealed that Stuckey is a four-time convicted felon with previous charges related to cocaine possession, with convictions dating back to 2005. Due to her status as a convicted felon, she is not legally permitted to possess a firearm.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Stuckey and the victim. As of Monday afternoon, she remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bond set at $12,500.
