The 65-year-old Brazilian woman who confessed to killing a man and mutilating his body is now under investigation for allegedly using his severed organ to prepare a soup.

Josefa Lima de Sousa was taken into custody following the fatal stabbing of Celso Marques Ferreira in Peruíbe, a coastal city in São Paulo. Authorities recovered a knife at the scene and later identified the victim.

Investigators are now looking into claims that Sousa cooked Ferreira’s penis and part of his heart after the killing and distributed the dish to other homeless individuals. Some recipients, unaware of its contents, reportedly consumed the food on the same day of the crime.

Ferreira’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds to the ribs, neck, and genitals. A sign left next to his remains accused him of sex crimes. Sousa, who is also homeless, told police she killed him using "the power of her mind" before consuming parts of his organs. She also alleged that Ferreira had sexually assaulted children.

Local sources report that those who alerted the authorities were unaware of what they had eaten. Police have yet to confirm whether human remains were actually used in the meal.

Sousa was arrested alongside her partner, Robson Aparecido de Oliveira, 41, on March 7. Authorities determined that there was sufficient evidence linking her to the crime. It was also revealed that she had longstanding conflicts with the victim.

Aparecido de Oliveira was taken into custody after investigators discovered that he had recently threatened Ferreira. Authorities suspect Sousa did not act alone and are searching for another possible suspect.

Officials have not commented on the claims that Ferreira was involved in crimes against children. The victim and the two detainees were known to have regularly slept in the square where Ferreira’s body was found.
