Florida-based rapper Chocolate MC, whose legal name is Yosvanis Sierra-Hernandez, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after allegedly holding a fan at gunpoint in Opa-locka, a city just north of downtown Miami.

According to an arrest report, the incident occurred in the parking lot of Chavez Supermarket when a fan approached Sierra-Hernandez and asked to take a selfie. The 34-year-old rapper allegedly responded by pressing a firearm into the fan’s chest and demanding his vehicle.

Police stated that Sierra-Hernandez then ordered the victim into the driver’s seat while he entered the passenger side. Once inside the vehicle, the rapper demanded money. When the victim explained he had no cash, Sierra-Hernandez reportedly asked for Zelle payment details. That effort also failed because the victim did not have the payment app.

The arrest report details that Sierra-Hernandez forced the fan to drive him around for approximately two hours, stopping at several locations before eventually releasing the victim near 270 SW 11th Avenue. Surveillance footage from the supermarket reportedly captured the moment Sierra-Hernandez brandished a weapon and coerced the victim into the car.

Law enforcement later located Sierra-Hernandez in possession of a gray and black firearm. He was arrested and charged with kidnapping with a firearm and armed robbery.

This is not the first time the Latin music artist, who has 43,000 followers on Instagram, has had legal trouble. Just last week, Sierra-Hernandez was arrested in connection to a separate incident involving an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Authorities say he offered thousands of dollars to have an inmate—charged with the 2024 murder of singer El Taiger in Miami—killed.

Sierra-Hernandez failed to appear at a scheduled bond hearing related to the murder-for-hire case and prior burglary charges. As a result, the judge denied him bond. He is expected to appear in court again on Thursday.

In a recent interview with a Spanish-language television station, the rapper expressed a desire to turn his life around and claimed he wanted to be left alone by law enforcement. However, 2024 has seen him repeatedly arrested on charges including sexual battery, armed kidnapping, battery, and grand theft.

Sierra-Hernandez remains in custody as the investigation continues.
