A Michigan teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct after allegedly abusing a 12-year-old student over a four-month period and later disguising himself as an elderly woman to attend a student performance he was banned from.
Vincent Weaver, 29, a former fine arts teacher and dance coach at George Washington Carver Academy, was charged on May 16 by the Highland Park Police Department. Authorities allege that Weaver committed repeated acts of sexual abuse with the minor on school premises between January and May 2025.
The investigation began after an incident on May 2, when a sex toy reportedly fell out of Weaver’s bag in a classroom. This prompted the young victim to come forward and disclose the abuse on May 15.
Despite being suspended and explicitly warned not to attend any school-related events, Weaver attempted to attend an off-campus student dance performance he had choreographed. According to police, he wore a surgical mask and dressed as an elderly woman to evade recognition and gain entry into the venue, located at a nearby college.
“We had information that he had choreographed a show that was due to take place at a local college,” said Interim Police Chief James McMahon. “George Washington Carver staff advised him not to attend based on the pending allegations, and he was aware of that. So he took it upon himself to disguise himself and gain access to the event.”

Security personnel at the event noticed a suspicious individual “limping” into the venue and alerted police, leading to Weaver’s arrest at the scene.
He now faces multiple charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and indecent exposure. A judge has set Weaver’s bond at $250,000, citing him as a flight risk and a threat to public safety.
Superintendent Sylvia Brown confirmed that Weaver, who was hired in 2023, was terminated following an internal investigation. “George Washington Carver Academy was recently made aware of an incident involving a teacher and a student. We immediately notified law enforcement, placed the employee on suspension, and after an internal investigation, terminated their employment and removed them from campus,” she stated.
“Our top priority remains the safety and well-being of our students and their families, and we are committed to supporting them with appropriate resources during this time.”
