Two of boxing’s most iconic names, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather, are officially set to face each other in a massive exhibition fight in 2026.
Contracts have been signed for the spring showdown, which will be promoted by CSI Sports and Fight Sports, though the exact date and location are yet to be confirmed.
Tyson, now 59, sparked major health concerns when he returned to the ring in 2024 for an exhibition bout against Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Dallas. Despite his age, the former heavyweight champion has agreed to take on Mayweather, who will be 49 at the time of the fight.

Mayweather, who retired professionally in 2017 with an undefeated 50-0 record after defeating Conor McGregor in one of the most-watched fights in history, has since participated in several exhibitions. His most recent was in August 2024 against John Gotti III in Mexico City.
Tyson expressed disbelief at the match-up, saying: “This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. Boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening.”
Mayweather, on the other hand, welcomed the challenge, stating: “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
Tyson’s last bout against Jake Paul drew a staggering 108 million viewers on Netflix, and early projections suggest the upcoming fight against Mayweather could attract even more global attention.
