Niger State Govt. renames Minna airport after Tinubu
The Minna International Airport in Niger State has been renamed Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport by the Niger State Government.
The airport, formerly known as Dr Abubakar Imam International Airport, will now bear the name of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu is scheduled to visit Minna, Niger state, on March 11, to officially inaugurate the Agricultural Revolution Project, commission the renamed airport, and lay the foundation for the Hajj Terminal.
This announcement was made by the state’s commissioner for Information and strategies, Hon. Binta Mamman, during a briefing with journalists in Minna, Niger State, on March 10.
Additionally, Mamman stated that President Tinubu would inaugurate 5,000 pieces of agricultural equipment procured by the state government.
The President's itinerary also includes a guided tour of the facilities at the remodelled airport terminal and the foundation-laying ceremony for the Hajji terminal before returning to Abuja.
She emphasized that these projects, executed within nine months of the Mohammed Umar Bago administration, aim to position Niger state as a leading state in agricultural revolution in Nigeria.
Furthermore, the airport's designation as an alternative to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, and its role as a Cargo Airport were highlighted.
