The Duke of Sussex has expressed his desire for "reconciliation" with the Royal Family following a deeply personal and emotional response to his recent legal defeat over security provisions in the United Kingdom. Prince Harry, currently residing in California, stated that his relationship with King Charles has become strained, revealing that the monarch is currently not speaking to him due to the ongoing dispute over royal security.
“He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff,” Prince Harry said, visibly upset, adding that he was unsure how much time his father had left, highlighting the emotional toll of their fractured relationship.
The prince’s comments followed a court ruling that upheld the UK government’s decision to downgrade his security arrangements, a change that was implemented after he stepped back from official royal duties and relocated to the United States. Harry described the outcome of the legal battle as a “good old fashioned establishment stitch-up,” and alleged that the Royal Household had played a role in influencing the decision.

He firmly denied asking King Charles to intervene directly in the matter, clarifying, “I never asked him to intervene—I asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs.”
Prince Harry emphasized that the treatment he received during the dispute confirmed his worst fears and left him feeling “devastated.” He also revealed that the unresolved security issue made him feel it was unsafe to bring his family to the UK, stating, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
Despite the legal setback and ongoing family tensions, the Duke indicated a willingness to move forward, saying, “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,” but added that he has now “forgiven” them.
Prince Harry has consistently argued that his and his family’s security should not be compromised, particularly given his high-profile status and the risks associated with it. The ruling, however, has left their protection status unchanged, prompting concerns about their future visits to the UK.
