British comedian and actor Russell Brand has pleaded not guilty to multiple serious sexual offence charges, including rape, oral rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault. The charges involve allegations from four separate women spanning a six-year period between 1999 and 2005.

The 49-year-old appeared at Southwark Crown Court wearing a dark grey suit and was flanked by two officers in the dock. Brand spoke only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty pleas, maintaining a composed demeanor and standing upright as he addressed the court.

He faces five charges in total: one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape, and two counts of sexual assault. The allegations relate to incidents that reportedly occurred in various settings, including a hotel room during a political conference and at media workplaces.

According to case details, one woman alleges that Brand raped her in a hotel room during a Labour Party conference. Another woman, identified as a former television worker, claims he grabbed her breasts and dragged her into a toilet, where he allegedly committed oral rape. A third complainant, a former radio station employee, accuses Brand of pushing her against a wall, kissing her forcefully, and groping her. The fourth woman alleges he committed indecent assault by grabbing her forearm and attempting to pull her into a male restroom.

The charges were filed following an extensive investigation initiated after a media exposé in which several women publicly accused Brand of sexual misconduct. He was formally charged by post last month.

After the hearing concluded, Brand exited the courtroom wearing sunglasses and passed quietly by reporters and members of the public. He later left the courthouse and was driven away.

Brand, who resides in Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, has publicly denied all allegations and previously stated to his 11.2 million followers on social media platform X that he welcomed the opportunity to prove his innocence in court.

A provisional trial date has been scheduled for 3 June 2026 at Southwark Crown Court.
